Finally made it to Busan!

Finally left my little city of Tongyeong, and traveled east long the coast with Mrs. Jeong and family to Busan.  What a trip... it took 3 hours or so by car, then another 90 minutes to get through traffic to reach Haeundae Beach farther side of the city.  Whoa!  A lot of driving for such a short trip!  We decided next time that we would take the subway when we arrived into Busan, the traffic was horrendous, but what do you expect in Korea's second largest Metropolitan area of over 3 million people!
We arrived just in time to watch the sunset over the water and the beautifully crafted modern bridge; making the 5 hours in the car worthwhile!  After exploring the boardwalk, we found a delicious seafood restaurant, and for dessert, visited Shinsegae, the largest "mall" in Asia.  Since there is little land area for a vast amount of people, Koreans build UP instead of OUT, like in the US.  As opposed to walking a mile through a two level mall of shops, there were 9 floors of shops, an ice rink, a spa, and of course, restaurants. (Actually, after some research, I discovered that Shinsegae is the LARGEST shopping mall in the WORLD, not just Asia. Let me tell you it was overwhelming!)

After being worn out and overwhelmed by the prices (elegant fur coats hung carelessly on racks for $5000 each), we went to the Vesta Spa, and soaked in hot pools, swam in cold pools, and relaxed under the starry sky in their outdoor hot tub.
I'm glad I didn't have to make the 3 1/2 hour drive home at 11pm!  Poor Mr. Park!
