Memories of ... Karaoke...?

If you got the reference above, you’ll recall the 봉준호 film, Memories of Murder, starring 송강호.  This was my tribute to Heart, apparently sung horrendously horribly during my BDay Celebration at Hi-Tunes 노래방 !  For some reason my friends were laughing...! LOL

I made this video for Todd, but thought ya'll would enjoy my morning Shopping experience as well.  Everything is locally grown, the farmers are here selling their goods, along with the fishmongers.  Sorry for the shaky distracted video, but I was distracted!

Haedong Yonggungsa 해동 용궁사 (Temple in Busan)

Well worth the 45 minute (all spent standing on a crowded bus!) bus ride in traffic to the edge of Busan.  Beautiful statuary, many twice as large myself, and a magnificent Kuan Yin several stories high, along with a massive gold Buddha.  Unfortunately, this is where I twisted my ankle, so I'll have to return for a longer visit!

Bollywood in Busan

Dynamic Busan-- self-proclaimed -- is a F-U-N city of 3+ million (the entire population of Alberta, Canada, by the way!).  It seemed we spent much of our time ins subways, or up top amidst traffic in cabs and buses.   I highly recommend you take subways as much as possible.  We also spent roughly 25% of vaca money on transportation costs!
However, arriving on the first day of 설날 Seollal -the Korean Lunar New Year, (spelling is debatable!) http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_6.jsp?cid=941952, everything is closed, Busan is near a Ghost Town.  Good for us!  We spent day one lost on the subways, going in circles (literally), while trying to get to a nearby mountain for a hike.  We ended up walking around Haeundae Beach and the ocean boardwalk, having a very confusing lunch of 파전 paejon and tofu soup, and ended up at a very bad Mexican restaurant later that night.
Our song is 실례합니다 (Shillehamnedah), which means "excuse me" in Korean, Lara started it, and so it's become a K-Pop hit (ha ha, not really).  We decided to start a flash mob, but then since it was only us, well, it was a very small flash mob!
