I want all of you in ATX to have a great experience like I did at The Moviehouse and Eatery Theaters (The M&E) out on 620. Yes, it's a drive, but so worth it. It surpasses the Alamo Drafthouse on every level: service, food, seating...
I received a HAND-WRITTEN THANK YOU NOTE from the manager after my feedback! How many business owners or managers take the time to do that these days?? The seats are better than iPic's (at The Domain) premium seats (you can recline all the way back, and a foot rest lifts your legs up. There's a button to call your happy-friendly-prompt server. [They have plenty of servers as well. The Drafthouse has cut back to about 2 servers per theater, which means you wait 20 or more minutes for service, and then another 20 for drinks and another 20 for food, so then the movie is over...ugh!]. The food is truly delicious and the menu variety of drinks and food is excellent. The food at the Drafthouse has seriously declined in quality, the food at iPic has always been terrible and overpriced. The theater also has an attractive ambiance and great bar. The M&E is my new favorite, and is exactly what the Drafthouse USED to be, but is now lacking. I wish they were closer, but it's so worth the drive to sit in their awesome seats, enjoy a good wine and cocktail list, have not just prompt but friendly service, and just be overall pleased by this theater!
